Derby County - Hull City Betting Preview: Rams capable of making a point against high-flying Tigers

Steve Bruce's men are challenging at the top end of the Championship table, but Willie Duncan thinks that they might be held by Nigel Clough's side at Pride Park on Friday night
High-flying Hull City will face a stern test of their Championship credentials when they travel to face in-form Derby County at Pride Park on Friday night.

The Tigers are rated as a 91/50 (2.82) chance with Marathon Bet to move level on points with league leaders Cardiff City by taking all three points against Nigel Clough’s men here.

The Rams, though, have lost just one of their 11 home matches in the Championship this season and they can be backed at 33/20 (2.65) with Marathon Bet to extend their impressive home record with a win, while the same firm offer a hugely appealing 12/5 (3.40) that the match ends in a draw.

This looks poised to be an intriguing contest with Derby boasting a strong home record and Hull having won no fewer than five of their last seven away matches in the league.

With both teams capable of grabbing goals, an entertaining encounter seems likely.

Hull have scored twice in their last three league matches, including in notable away victories over Nottingham Forest and Watford, while it should be noted that Derby have scored in eight of their last nine games.

With that in mind, the 47/50 (1.94) quote from Marathon Bet for three or more goals to be scored carries plenty of appeal here and is sure to attract plenty of support from punters. The 7/4 (2.75) quote from the same firm for two or more goals to be scored, in what promises to be an entertaining first half, is worthy of support.

These teams are difficult to separate and, subsequently, the 12/5 (3.40) quote from Marathon Bet for the match to finish all square looks to be a solid selection, while the same firm go 21/5 (5.20) that this contest is level at both half-time and full-time – a price which represents outstanding value.
