Wolfsburg - Bayer Leverkusen Betting Preview: Visitors value for cup victory
Sascha Lewandowski's men have been in fine form in the Bundesliga and Willie Duncan is backing the visitors to claim a place in the last eight of the cup with victory
Wolfsburg will be keen to put their indifferent league form to one side when they face Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 of the German Cup at Volkswagen Arena on Wednesday night.Wolfsburg have managed just one victory in their last five matches but defeated Leverkusen in the league last month and Lorenz-Gunther Kostner’s side are available at 48/25 (2.92) with Marathon Bet to repeat the feat in this last 16 clash.
Bayer Leverkusen currently sit second in the Bundesliga table and they will be keen to maintain their fine start to the campaign by beating Wolfsburg and advancing to the quarter-finals of the competition. The visitors are available at 73/50 (2.46) with Marathon Bet to win on Wednesday while the same firm go 13/5 (3.60) that the match ends in a draw inside 90 minutes.
Sascha Lewandowski’s men have been in imperious form at home this term but their away form has been less convincing.
In fact, Leverkusen needed extra time to see off lower division opposition in the shape of Arminia Bielefeld, so the trip to Wolfsburg looks likely to be a tricky assignment.
However, the hosts have their own problems and, in fact, have managed just six goals in eight home league matches this season and, with the visitors having both scored and conceded 17 goals in their nine league away matches this term, it looks likely to be an intriguing clash.
Only Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have netted more league goals than Leverkusen this term and, with that in mind, the 51/50 (2.02) for Leverkusen to score two or more goals looks to represent outstanding value here.It is also worth noting that Wolfsburg were comfortably defeated by Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend.
Should they defend as poorly here, Leverkusen have sufficient quality to take full advantage and Marathon Bet’s 29/10 (3.90) for Sascha Lewandowski’s men to lead at both half-time and full-time should be eagerly snapped up by value hunters here.
