Deportivo La Coruna - Real Valladolid: Why backing goals looks a great bet on Monday evening

Espanyol's unlikely point against Real Madrid on Sunday evening means Deportivo La Coruna are now clear at the bottom of La Liga having gained just 11 points from 15 matches.However, three points against Valladolid this evening would see Depor move out of the relegation zone, such is the congested nature at the bottom of the Spanish top flight and Bet365 price a victory for the Galicians at 6/5 (2.20). Valladolid, meanwhile, can be backed at 11/5 (3.20) with the draw offered at 12/5 (3.40).
The form book suggests that Deportivo should be opposed in some way, with the side from La Coruna having won just one of their last 16 competitive matches, keeping just two clean sheets in that time.
Valladolid though, have impressed in recent weeks and after consecutive La Liga wins they were extremely unlucky to lose 3-2 at home to Real Madrid last weekend having twice held a lead against the defending champions. Laying Deportivo then, by backing a draw or an away win at 8/13 (1.61) looks like a decent selection, although the odds may not be high enough for some punters.
Instead back over 2.5 goals to be scored at the extremely tempting price of evens (2.00).
Deportivo's troubles have stemmed from a woeful inability to defend and their goal difference reflects this; at -16 it is by quite some distance the worst in the league.
Matches involving Depor have been the second highest scoring in the division this season (after Barcelona) averaging 3.87 goals a game. This bet has paid out seven times already in Depor's league matches including in each of their last two games, while Valladolid have proved they have no problems in finding the back of the net by scoring in each of their previous 11 matches.
For a value bet, backing Depor's in-form veteran striker Riki to open the scoring at 6/1 (7.00) looks like a good choice. The 32-year-old has six goals this season, and scored twice in Depor's last home match.
