Premier League Treble: Backing Newcastle to bounce back & plenty of goals at Reading and QPR

Latest West Ham United-Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview: Brilliant Bale can inspire Spurs again Previous

After a short international interlude, the focus turns back to matters in the Premier League. Al Hain-Cole has studied Saturday's 15:00 games and come up with a treble worth 41/10

Premier League Treble
Reading
VS
Everton
Kick-off: 15:00GMT
Tip: Over 2.5 Goals at 7/10 (1.70) with Bet365

Everton’s start to the season has raised eyebrows not only because the notoriously slow starters currently sit in a lofty fourth place, but also because they seem to have thrown their usual solid style out of the window.

After five clean sheets in the their final nine Premier League matches last season, The Toffees have only prevented the opposition from scoring on two occasions this term, but have made up for it with some productive attacking play.

In Nikica Jelavic and Marouane Fellaini, David Moyes is the only manager who can boast two players with at least five league goals to their name already this season, and this cutting edge has inspired his side to 17 goals in the last eight matches.

These players should be licking their lips as they prepare to face a Reading side who have kept just one clean sheet all season, with last weekend’s goalless draw against Norwich coming after a run of eight goals conceded in three home games.

A bet on over 2.5 goals going in would have paid out in eight of Everton’s last 10 league games, and is not to be missed at tempting 7/10 (1.70) odds with Bet365.

Newcastle United
VS
Swansea City
Kick off: 15:00GMT
Tip: Newcastle to win at 10/11 (1.91) with Bet365

After a disappointing home defeat against West Ham last weekend, Newcastle will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they face Swansea on Saturday.

Fortunately for the Magpies, they have something of a hoodoo over the visitors in recent years, having won five and lost none of their last seven encounters with the Welsh side in all competitions.

Michael Laudrup’s men have failed to win away from home in the Premier League since their amazing 5-0 thrashing of QPR on opening day, and their goal in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Southampton was the first on their travels since that game at Loftus Road.

Poor away form is nothing new for the Swans, who have lost 17 of their last 24 on the road in the Premier League, while Alan Pardew will be hoping to once again make St James’ Park the fortress where they lost just three league games last season.

Expect the hosts to bounce back from disappointment with victory in this one, at generous 10/11 (1.91) odds.

QPR
VS
Southampton
Kick-off: 15:00 GMT
Both teams to score at 4/7 (1.57) with Bet365

Although probably too early in the season to call this match a relegation ‘six-pointer’, both QPR and Southampton are under real pressure to pick up a good result when they come face to face at Loftus Road.

The need for all three points is particularly acute for Mark Hughes, whose team are without a win all season, meaning the Welshman cannot afford to hold back in search of victory.

Spurred on by a raucous home crowd, the Hoops can be expected to unleash the full force of an talented front line that includes the likes of Adel Taarabt, Djibril Cisse, Junior Hoilett and Bobby Zamora.

Although this may spell trouble for a Southampton defence that has conceded a massive 29 goals in just 11 league  games, the Saints are no slouches going forward themselves, and should benefit from an open game.

A bet on both sides to score would have paid out in 16 of these sides’ 22 league games so far this season, and looks nailed on here at odds of 4/7 (1.57).
