After 10 league games without a win this season, QPR travel to Stoke to take on their most recently vanquished Premier League opponents, having overcome The Potters 1-0 at Loftus Road in May.

Not only was that win crucial in securing survival for Mark Hughes’ men, it also wrapped up a double victory over a team that they defeated 3-2 at the Britannia Stadium earlier in the season – their last away success in the league.

Rangers have lost 15 of their last 18 on the road since then, thanks in part to an attack that has only managed to score 16 goals in those fixtures, and has only hit the back of the net more than once on four occasions.

Stoke, meanwhile, have only conceded once in four matches at their fortress of a home ground this term, but have also struggled in the goalscoring department, with only eight to their name after 10 league games.

Saturday’s clash at St Mary’s has the potential to be one of the season’s most entertaining matches, as Southampton’s gung-ho style goes head to head with Swansea’s cultured football.

Encouragingly, there has never been a 0-0 draw in 29 league meetings between these two sides on the south coast, with 100 goals being scored in those fixtures.

This looks set to continue here, as Southampton have provided more goals than any other Premier League team this season, with 42 goals scored at either end in their 10 matches so far.

The Saints have now gone 19 top-flight matches without keeping a clean sheet, and should struggle to contain a Swansea side that has recovered from a barren September spell, to score eight goals in their last five competitive matches.

Eight of Southampton’s 10 Premier League games have featured over 2.5 goals this year, and that is where the smart money lies in this potentially high-scoring encounter, at odds of 77/100 (1.77).

Sunderland

Everton to win at 23/50 (1.46) with Marathon Bet

Everton’s fine start to the season has not gone unnoticed, and it looks set to continue when they face a Sunderland side who they have beaten in 11 of their last 15 encounters, losing none.

The Toffees will be especially keen to pick up a win after drawing their last four games in a row, with sloppy defending cancelling out their excellent attacking play on too many occasions.

However, David Moyes’s side will surely be confident of outscoring a blunt Sunderland attack that has failed to score in three of the last four league matches, and has only managed a woeful 12 shots on target in 10 Premier League games this season.

Martin O’Neill seems to have a bigger task on his hands than he might have imagined upon arrival in Wearside, and his team have now gone 12 league games without picking up three points on the road.

With 14 victories in 19 games at Goodison Park, Everton are strong favourites to come out on top in this match, and are well worth the 23/50 (1.46) odds on offer here.
