What's on this weekend
With a whole host of fixtures taking place on Friday night, many punters will be eyeing up a multiple to start the weekend on a winning note.
Russia host Portugal at 16:00BST and Fabio Capello's side will look to build on back-to-back wins against Northern Ireland and Israel and are 13/8 (2.63) to continue their winning run against a Portugal side who have also started their campaign with two wins. The visitors are at 17/10 (2.70) with Paddy Power to follow their wins against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan with another victory.
The cornerstones of many accumulators will be teams such as Spain who are 1/8 (1.13) to see off Belarus or Sweden who are 1/12 (1.08) to beat the Faroe Islands.
For some more tasty prices though, why not look towards games such as Serbia against Belgium on Friday evening? The hosts are made slight favourites by Paddy Power at 6/4 (2.50) to build on their 6-1 win over Wales. Meanwhile, Belgium - the side widely tipped as the dark horses for the tournament in Brazil - will be keen to get back to winning ways after only managing a 1-1 draw with Croatia last time out.
The Republic of Ireland face what looks to be a very tough task when they take on Germany at Aviva Stadium in Dublin with Giovanni Trapattoni's side rank outsiders at 13/2 (7.50) with Paddy Power to beat a Germany side that are still available at 4/9 (1.44), a price which is bound to be included in many punters' coupons this weekend.
Wales and Scotland also square off in Cardiff with the hosts on a dismal run having lost their last five matches, yet they are available at 13/8 (2.63) with Paddy Power to record their first win of the campaign.
Scotland have fared marginally better in their first two matches, although Craig Levein has faced criticism for his side's 1-1 draw against Macedonia at Hampden Park in their last game.
Steven Fletcher's inclusion could convince those considering the 13/8 (2.63) available about a Scottish victory as the bookmakers struggle to separate the two sides.
If there was ever a home banker on an International coupon it would seem that England's game against San Marino would be it. Roy Hodgson's men are just 1/200 (1.05) with Paddy Power to claim three points, while the visitors are 66/1 (67.0) shots to record an unlikely win, the draw is at 20/1 (21.0).
Don't forget there is also plenty of action from League One and League Two in England so if you have a Football League gem, why not send it in and enter the competition?
Whatever you're backing this weekend, send your best tip to email@example.com with Win20 in the subject line to enter. The winner will be contacted by email on Monday, October 15 and will be announced when Diary of a Punter returns next week.
