Tottenham favourites to be the busiest Premier League club on deadline day

Tottenham favourites to be the busiest Premier League club on deadline day

Latest Barcelona-Real Madrid Betting Preview: Why backing Ronaldo to score offers serious value Previous

Paddy Power have named Spurs the 4/1 favourites to sign the most players on the last day of the transfer window, while Chelsea are 20/1 to be the most active club

The last day of the transfer window is always a hectic time for Premier League clubs, negotiations are taking place, deals are being confirmed and fax machines are going into overdrive.

Paddy Power have priced up which of the Premier League sides will sign the most players on Friday, with Tottenham named the market favourites at 4/1 (5.0).

With the transfer of Luka Modric to Real Madrid confirmed, new boss Andre Villas-Boas has a transfer budget to spend and is expected to make late moved for several players in an attempt to bolster his squad.

The north London club are 7/2 (4.50) to sign three or more players on deadline day, exactly two players is a 6/4 (2.50) shot while exactly one player is 15/8 (2.88). A day of no arrivals at White Hart Lane - which would come as a major shock - is available at 5/1 (6.0).

Queens Park Rangers have been one of the busiest clubs in the current transfer window with a 5-0 defeat against pre-season relegation favourites Swansea prompting Rangers boss Mark Hughes to further improve his squad over the last two weeks. QPR are 6/1 (7.0) shots to sign the most players with Manchester City next in the betting at 7/1 (8.0).

Roberto Mancini has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks as the Premier League champions missed out on several of their prime targets but the Italian is sure to have another shortlist drawn up ahead of the final day.

London trio Arsenal (10/1), Fulham (10/1) and West Ham (12/1) are next while rivals Liverpool and Everton are both available at 14/1 (15.0), Chelsea are outsiders at 20/1 (21.0) to complete the most deals on Friday.

Roberto Di Matteo has already conducted a lot of business over the last month and it's expected that the European Champions won't be scrambling to complete many moves on the final day.

Champions League final - LIVE!
German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will battle it out at Wembley for European glory. Get involved by sending us your thoughts via Twitter or Facebook! Hosted by Mark Doyle.

However, Dortmund simply cannot be discounted. They relish the role of underdogs and are not in the least bit afraid of their illustrious rivals, having now gone six Bundesliga games without defeat against die Roten. The last time these two met in a final, in last season’s DFB Pokal, Dortmund ran out 5-2 winners. As coach Jurgen Klopp pointed out this week: “We’re not the best team in the world, but we can beat the best team in the world."

Bayern, of course, start as overwhelming favourites to prevail this evening, and understandably so. Not only did they mercilessly batter Barcelona into a shockingly tame capitulation at Camp Nou, they are also coming off the back of a record-breaking Bundesliga campaign which they finished a staggering 25 points clear of runners-up Dortmund, whom they are unbeaten against in four meetings this season.
4:40 PM BST
So, what do you think? Who will prevail this evening? Are Bayern going to banish the memory of last year’s devastating and inexplicable loss to Chelsea at the Allianz Arena? Or are Dortmund going to defy the odds once again and go from the brink of bankruptcy to Champions League winners in just eight years? Get in touch via Facebook and Twitter and I’ll be sure to post the best comments in here.

Finals do not get much more appetising either. What we have here tonight is a game between the two best sides in Europe this season. There is just simply no disputing that. Dortmund have been beaten just once on their remarkable run to the final (quite the feat when you consider they were grouped with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Ajax), while Bayern have sparked giddy talk of a new era of die Roten dominance akin that enjoyed by the Bavarians in the 1970s by dismantling the likes of Juventus and, in particular, Barcelona on their way to Wembley.
4:38 PM BST
That’s right, in the same year that one of the most iconic venues in the game turns 90 and the Football Association marks its 125th anniversary, two German sides will battle it out for the right to lift the most prestigious prize in club football at the home of English football. For those with a twisted sense of humour, irony does not get any more delicious than this!
