Simon Pilkington and Jim Knight have begun their season-long betting adventure and thanks to Paddy Power, each week we'll be giving away a £20 free bet to one lucky readerThe domestic season is underway and thanks to a win for Newcastle and Southampton's spirited display against Manchester City, our punters are already in profit, albeit by a small amount.
It was a week for small stakes due to the lack of decent form but a solid performance has set a good tone for the rest of the campaign, whether it continues, remains to be seen.
As well as following Simon and Jim's tips throughout the season there will be a £20 free bet available to the biggest football winner of the weekend tipped by a reader of the column, thanks to Paddy Power.
All you have to do to win is email email@example.com with your best football tip for the upcoming weekend's action and the price it's available at with Paddy Power.
It can be a single or multiple, but must be from matches which kick off within the specified period. All submissions must be emailed by 12 noon on Saturday each week to stand a chance of winning.
In order to qualify for the competition you must also include that weekend's password in the subject line of your email - any submissions without the password will not be counted.
The password will change each week and will be clearly marked in the two Diary of a Punter articles each week on both the International and UK editions, so remember to check back each week for your chance to win.
So whatever your speciality, be it Premier League accumulators, lower league goalscorers or European scorecasts, all you have to do is email your best bet to us together with the password to be in with a chance of claiming that £20 free bet, all thanks to Paddy Power.
If you are the winner of the weekly prize, we will contact you via email and your selection will be published in the following week's diary entries.
In order to claim the bet, you must provide your Paddy Power username - if you don't have a Paddy Power account, you can sign up for one here.
