Valerenga - Manchester United Betting Preview: Attractive odds offered on either Hernandez or Kagawa to score first

With United heading to Norway, Phil Kitromilides believes the value lies in the goal scorers markets and has identified a bet which combines two candidates to break the deadlock
Having faced South African and Chinese opposition already, Manchester United continue their eclectic pre-season schedule with a match against mid-table Norwegian outfit Valerenga.

Understandably Sir Alex Ferguson's side are odds-on favourites to claim a victory with William Hill pricing them at 4/11 (1.36) while Valerenga can be backed at 11/2 (6.50).

The odds on a United win though are not particularly appealing and it is worth noting that Valerenga are in decent domestic form having lost just one of their last six matches.

While United are likely to ultimately prove too strong for the Norwegians, the side from Oslo could well cause the Reds a few problems, or at least frustrate them creatively.

Yet it is almost impossible seeing United failing to score, especially with Valerenga conceding in each of their last four matches, so a bet on a United goal scorer looks a decent option.

William Hill offer an interesting market, First Goalscorer Coupled meaning you get to back two players to open the scoring.

The pairing of either Javier Hernandez or Shinji Kagawa to score first at 21/10 (3.10) looks like a tempting proposition, with Kagawa extremely impressive when scoring the winner against Shanghai Shenhua last time out.

This season is perhaps make or break for Chicharito and the Mexican will be desperate to impress in pre-season, so either of these two to open the scoring looks like a solid selection.

For slightly higher odds back Kagawa to score at any time available at 3/1 (4.00) with the Japanese playmaker full of confidence after his superb performance last week.
