Premier League Preview: Backing the draw still the best bet when Liverpool host West Brom

The Reds cup successes have given the Anfield faithful plenty to cheer this season. Adam Bate is expecting their Premier League problems to continue against the Baggies though
Every time the storm clouds gather at Anfield, Kenny Dalglish is able to point to another trophy on the horizon. Despite a dismal run of form in the Premier League, Dalglish has delivered a Carling Cup triumph and is 90 minutes away from adding a third FA Cup win as Liverpool boss.

Liverpool supporters don’t need to go back into the dim and distant past to realise there were tougher times. Roy Hodgson was sacked as Liverpool boss in January 2011 with the club 12th in the Premier League.

The 64-year-old has since restored his reputation by doing sterling work with the Baggies and will be hoping to show the Anfield crowd what his team are capable of on Sunday.

West Brom are 6/1 (7.0) with 188Bet to exploit the dodgy home form of a Liverpool side that has won just one of their last six Premier League games in front of their own fans.

But Albion’s own form on their travels has been poor of late with no win in four away. There will be Liverpool players looking to force their way into the FA Cup final team so the price of 7/18 (1.39) could be of interest.

The draw is available at 16/5 (4.2) with 188Bet and that’s a chunky price given that nine of Liverpool’s 16 home games in the Premier League this season have been drawn.

In the other markets, there looks to be real value in the goals market. Under 2.5 goals is available to be backed at 5/4 (2.25) in this one.

That’s surprising as 19 of Liverpool’s 33 Premier League games have featured two goals or fewer – as have five of the Baggies’ last eight. It’s the pick of the bets in this one.

For the value bet, consider the fact that Liverpool have drawn six of their 16 Anfield league games by the score of 1-1. That’s available at 15/2 (8.5) with 188Bet and offers serious value on Sunday afternoon.
