Pete is focusing on the bottom half of the Premier League and can see high scoring games at the Reebok Stadium and between Blackburn and WolvesThis Saturday the focus is very much on the bottom of the Premier League table where we have two vital relegation battles where all four teams will be fighting for their lives.
These games are very much looked at as "six pointers” and the probability is each team will have targeted these games as must win now that we have entered the final third of the season.
The first game we will look at is the Saturday lunchtime fixture at the Reebok Stadium where Owen Coyle’s Bolton entertain Queens Park Rangers.
Both teams have shown some wretched form with Bolton having won only two of their 13 home games this season and Mark Hughes' team have only won three of their 13 away games. So trying to find the winner of this game is extremely difficult.
However, looking through the stats it looks as though goals could be on the cards. Since Mark Hughes arrival QPR are now starting to find the net regularly and have scored nine goals in their last six matches.
When looking at how both teams have fared when playing similarly graded sides we see that there has been Over 2.5 goals in seven of the Trotters last 11 home games to teams of QPRs grade. In the case of QPR, there have been three or more goals in five of their last seven away games.
Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 9/10 (1.90) with Bet 365 and this looks a very solid option given the above.
The second game sees Terry Connor's Wolves team take on Blackburn and they will be desperate to put last weekend's 5-0 defeat at Fulham behind them
I like Blackburn +0.25 goals on the Asian Handicap here and Steve Kean’s side are fairly resilient when facing teams of Wolves calibre away from home. Indeed it is this good form against these sides that has previously kept them clear from danger as since the start of the 2009/10 season they have only lost twice in 15 away meeting to sides of Wolves' grading.
But once again this must win game looks full of goals. When Wolves have played teams of Blackburn's grading, over 2.5 goals has been seen in nine of 10 matches. Looking at Blackburn's form, 3 or more goals have been seen in seven of their last 10 away to teams of Wolves' calibre.
Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/11 (1.73) with bet 365 and once again this looks a solid option.
Those of you who are adventurous could consider an Over 2.5 goals double on the two featured matches which would pay a shade over 9/4 (3.28). However my bet of the weekend will be Over 2.5 goals in the Bolton v QPR match at 9/10 (1.90) with Bet 365
