thumbnail Hello,

Premier League encounters between the top sides have been high-scoring affairs this season and that trend looks set to continue. Plus there's a £50 free bet from Paddy Power

Both sides come into the match having enjoyed morale boosting victories last weekend, with Liverpool claiming their first piece of silverware in six years by winning the League Cup. Meanwhile, Arsenal arrested their alarming slump with a stunning win over Tottenham in the north London derby.

Paddy Power also have a money back offer for this game. If a penalty is scored, as it was in Arsenal's last match, they will refund all losing first and goalscorer bets as well as all losing correct score and scorecast singles.

The teams are currently involved in the battle for fourth place in the Premier League, although the Gunners have the distinct advantage of occupying the position at present, seven points ahead of the Merseysiders. A home win on Saturday lunchtime is priced at 21/20 (2.05) by Paddy Power, while a victory for the visitors is on offer at 11/4 (3.75).

However, given their respective records neither of those prices particularly appeal. Liverpool have a mere four home wins all season, while only Wigan and Blackburn have conceded more goals on their travels than Arsenal.

The draw therefore is the most attractive result to back and odds of 23/10 (3.30) without doubt make it worth considering.

One of the most interesting characteristics of this Premier League season, has been the sheer volume of goals scored in matches between the top teams.

From Manchester United's 8-2 demolition of Arsenal, to Manchester City's 6-1 destruction of United, and Arsenal's 5-3 extravaganza at Chelsea, there have been goals galore.

So the temptation is to back another high-scoring encounter at Anfield, and PaddyPower offer odds of 2/1 (3.00) on there being over 3.5 goals in the game, and 5/1 (6.00) on over 4.5 goals.

But the surest bet of all seems to be to back both teams to score, priced at 4/6 (1.80). Arsenal have only failed to score in three of their 13 away games this season, and have only kept three clean sheets on the road.

Given their strength in attack but their fragility in defence, there should be goals at both ends at Anfield.

Don't forget:
If a penalty is scored, as it was in Arsenal's last match, Paddy Power will refund all losing first and goalscorer bets as well as all losing correct score and scorecast singles.
