Udinese v PAOK Salonika: Home win at 8/11 (1.73) with Sportingbet

Udinese suffered their first home defeat of the season at the hands of AC Milan on Saturday in Serie A, but should quickly get back to winning ways at the Stadio Friuli where they have been close to unbeatable all season.

Antonio Di Natale is in stunning scoring form and has netted in practically every home game this season. PAOK Salonika did manage a win at White Hart Lane against Tottenham in the group stages of the competition and will be roared on by a vocal travelling support of around 5,000 fans. But they lack the quality and killer instinct to be able to beat a very good Udinese side in their own back yard.

Stoke v Valencia: Valencia win at 7/5 (2.40) with Sportingbet

The pairing of Stoke and Valencia conjures up the image of a sultry Spanish senorita on a blind date with a brutish oaf. Beauty and the beast. However, for all the great football that Valencia play, such as their weekend thrashing of Sporting Gijon 4-0, much has been written questioning their ability to cope with this most English of ties; a cold Thursday night in Stoke.

Yet it would be foolish to think that such matches do not exist in Spain, and Valencia visited the Liga version of Stoke, Osasuna, two weeks ago and became one of the few teams over the last two seasons to have managed a victory there. This suggests they can handle Stoke, and 7/5 looks like a generous price.

Lazio v Atletico Madrid: Under 2.5 goals at 7/10 (1.70) with Sportingbet

Six matches is a long time in football. That is how long Atletico Madrid have gone since conceding a goal. There is a new intensity to their play under coach Diego Simeone. Although they have drawn a couple of games they might have expected to win, what they have become is extremely hard to beat.

Lazio meantime are flying high in Serie A and looking like they are in with a decent chance of qualifying for the Champions League, currently sitting in third spot. They also do not concede too many goals at home (nine in their last 12 games). This should be a tight game between two evenly-matched teams.
