Group A
Turkey 1.53, Draw 3.76, Belgium 5.49
These familiar foes meet once again after a contrasting match day one. Turkey dispatched of Kazakhstan 3-0 while Belgium were narrowly beaten at home by Germany.
Both teams met in qualification for the World Cup with the corresponding match in Istanbul finishing in a 1-1 draw. Belgium's odds are very generous but it's the home side who are in form. Under 2.5 goals at 1.85 looks worthwhile based on recent history.
Austria 1.23, Draw 4.89, Kazakhstan 11.91
Austria begin their campaign after being able to put their feet up on Friday. Neither of these sides is in good form with Austria losing four of their last five. Kazakhstan have scored just twice in five games so while they are expected to lose it may not be a hammering. Austria aren't in the habit of dishing out heavy beatings so giving the visitors a + 2 advantage at 1.55 has merit.
Germany 1.01, Draw 13.0, Azerbaijan 41.0
Berti Vogts returns to Germany with Azerbaijan for the away side's opener. The Nationalmannschaft won both games by a combined total of 6-0 in World Cup qualifying but may not romp to a resounding victory according to Goal.com's Clark Whitney. Belgium goalscorer Miroslav Klose is a great price at 2.75 to open the scoring in Cologne. Germany are a banker to win this match barring a miracle.
Russia 1.50, Draw 3.64, Slovakia 6.30
The only sides to beat Russia on their own turf in recent years have been Germany, Argentina and Spain. Slovakia did clock up a 1-1 draw here in 2004 and you'll get odds of 7.82 on a repeat of that scoreline. The away team beat Macedonia in their opener and recent matches on their travels have gone under 2.5 goals which is priced at 1.78.
FYR Macedonia 1.57, Draw 3.75, Armenia 6.0
Macedonia are aiming for four home wins on the spin to kick off their qualifying campaign. Armenia aren't known for pulling up trees on the road and have scored just once in their previous seven away games. A home win just like in 2004 when the teams last met in Macedonia looks on the cards at 1.57.
Rep of Ireland 1.02, Draw 12.0, Andorra 34.0
Since Giovanni Trapattoni took over the boys in green they have never won a competitive match by more than one goal. If that is going to change it will surely be against Andorra who have lost their past 25 games. When the teams last met in 2001 the Irish scored three goals in each. As this is the first proper match at the new Aviva stadium a few goals should be in the offing. A small punt on a correct score of 3-0 is checking out at 5.50. If you fancy a more conservative 2-0 that is 7.0 while 1-0 is 12.0.
Serbia 1.51, Draw 3.72, Slovenia 5.81
Their defending may have been questionable in the World Cup but Serbia were watertight at home in qualification winning four from five and conceding just a single goal. Slovenia were stunned by Northern Ireland on Friday and will be out to make amends. Serbia are a good price at 2.0 to keep a clean sheet with under 2.5 goals trading at 1.65.
Italy 1.01, Draw 13.0, Faroe Islands 41.0
The Azzurri had to come from behind to beat Estonia but shouldn't encounter any such problems against the Faroes. Brian Kerr's team have been critical of facilities in Florence which adds some spice to the game. You'll get odds of 2.60 on Italy taking the lead in the first 15 minutes just as Serbia did against the Faroes on Friday. A repeat of Italy's 3-1 win in 2007 is priced at 34.0.
Belarus 2.50, Draw 3.25, Romania 2.80
Belarus coach Bernd Stange told his players that France would be vulnerable and he was proved right as his side recorded a shock 1-0 win in Paris. He's demanded 'maximum concentration' from his team to turn around a losing pattern against Romania. Both of the qualifiers for Euro 2008 finished in Romania's favour and they need a result after a 1-1 draw with Albania. Romania scored in all but one of their away games in World Cup qualifying and both teams to score looks tasty at 1.90.
Albania 1.25, Draw 5.25, Luxembourg 12.0
Picking up a point against Romania will be rendered meaningless unless Albania secure three against Luxembourg. Their three most recent home games ended 1-0 in Albania's favour and you'll get a price of 6.0 on that happening again. Luxembourg were 3-0 down at half time against Bosnia on Friday so consider Albania with a -1 handicap to win the first half at 3.75.
Bosnia-Herzegovina 2.62, Draw 3.25, France 2.62
Without a win in seven games Les Bleus could do without the potentially tricky trip to Sarajevo. New coach Laurent Blanc is missing several of his forwards and will encounter a team that dispatched of Luxembourg. This is likely to be a close encounter and the odds reflect that. Players like Dzeko and Misimovic can certainly punish the French resolve and a small stake on a home win is worth a punt. On the safer side a half-time draw like Friday night in Paris is priced at 2.10.
