Die Mannschaft have never beaten the Azzurri in a major tournament but Joachim Low's men enter the game full of confidence after brushing aside Greece 4-2 in the quarter-finals.

Having to contend with shackling an Andrea Pirlo-inspired Italy will be a whole different task though. The 33-year-old has been magnificent so far in the tournament and will look to pull the strings in midfield once again as the Azzurri look to advance to the final.

However, Germany will be looking to exact a measure of revenge against Italy for their elimination from the semi-finals of the 2006 World Cup played in Dortmund.
