Ronaldo and Nani are the best attackers at Euro 2012, claims Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo
The Portuguese custodian spoke exclusively to Goal.com ahead of the Seleccao's highly-anticipated semi-final encounter with Iberian rivals Spain on Wednesday night
EXCLUSIVEBy Maximilian Bensinger
Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo has lauded forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani as the most potent strike duo at Euro 2012.
The Istanbul BB-bound custodian is yet to feature at the tournament, but has spoken exclusively to Goal.com about the Seleccao's chances of upsetting defending champions Spain in Wednesday's semi-final in Donetsk.
The full interview can be read below.
Are Portugal the underdogs in the match against the world champions, or do you see both teams level after your strong tournament?
It will be a very complicated game for both sides. Spain are nowadays the best team in the world but we have already seen evidence that they are not unbeatable. I think if we have a good day we can win the game.
Which team has the better attack - Spain or Portugal?
For me, Portugal have the best attack. Nani and Ronaldo are the best forwards of [Euro 2012] in my opinion.
Everybody is talking about Ronaldo. Is that good for the team because there is less focus and pressure on the others, or is it annoying that the talking is mostly about one player?
Ronaldo is the world's best player and it is obvious that everyone is talking about the best in the world, everyone understands that.
Is it an advantage or disadvantage that a lot of the Spanish players know Ronaldo's game from Real Madrid?
It's irrelevant. I believe everybody knows each other's game at this moment. The match will be decided in small details.
How does it feel to sit on the bench all the time? Are you still dreaming of a chance to play at Euro 2012?
I am here to help Portugal, obviously I would rather be playing. However, I have to respect the opinion of the coach and that he chose another player. If the opportunity ever arises I will be always ready.
