The Sporting Braga striker feels that the Seleccao have what it takes to cause an upset and reach the European Championship final, and added that they are not a one-man teamSpain will struggle to contain Portugal when the sides meet in Wednesday's Euro 2012 semi-final in Donetsk.
The former Portugal international feels the Seleccao's counterattacks could prove to be too much for the reigning world and European champions.
"Spain know that Portugal are very strong on the counterattack, with fast and technically-gifted players. They're very aware of that and they'll be focusing on that aspect of the game," Nuno Gomes stated to Uefa.com.
"It will be very difficult for them to stop every single Portuguese counterattack and Portugal may have a chance to score from one of them."
The attacker then went on to stress that there is much more to Paulo Bento's side than just star man Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Everyone is focusing on Cristiano because he is one of the best players in the world, so it's normal that people look at him first.
"However, our team is not just Cristiano. There are other players that are having a great tournament, and reaching the semi-final is also down to those guys."
Wednesday's match between La Roja and the Seleccao kicks off at 20:45CET.
