Helder Postiga ruled out of remainder of Euro 2012 - report
The Zaragoza striker was initially expected to only miss the semi-finals of the European championship, but now it seems that he may sit out a potential showpiece as well
Portugal forward Helder Postiga, who picked up an injury during the Seleccao's 1-0 win over Czech Republic, will not feature again at Euro 2012, according to Record. The 29-year-old sustained an injury in his right thigh and was promptly replaced by Besiktas striker Hugo Almeida five minutes before half-time in Thursday's clash.
The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed the nature of the injury and it was initially believed that Postiga would only miss the Seleccao's semi-final clash.
However, rumours have begun to circulate that the knock is much more serious than expected and that the striker will not play again in the rest of the tournament.
Postiga entered the record books in the Group B 3-2 victory against Denmark, joining a special club of players who have scored at three different European Championship finals.
