Italy player bonus only to be discussed if they reach semi-finals of Euro 2012

Cesare Prandelli has left the rewards to be dealt with by the Italian Football Federation, with a portion of the money potentially being given to Emilia earthquake victims
Italy have decided there will not be any negotiations regarding tournament performance-related player bonuses unless they reach the semi-finals of Euro 2012.
Cesare Prandelli’s side qualified for the knockout phase as Group C runners-up after 1-1 draws with Spain and Croatia was followed by a 2-0 win over Republic of Ireland. They were handed a clash against Group D winners England, but according to Goal.com Italy, there will not be any discussions about player bonuses at the moment.
Prandelli is leaving the Italian Football Federation to deal with the situation, and president Giancarlo Abete will assess what kind of reward, if any, is warranted should Italy get past England and reach the semi-finals.
One suggestion has been to donate a portion of the bonus to charities for the families and victims of the two earthquakes that devastated Northern Italy last month.
On May 20, 2012, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Emilia, with aftershocks reportedly being felt in Switzerland as seven people were killed.
Nine days later a similar-sized tremor registering 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the same area killing a further 17 people while 15,000 were left homeless.
Following the quakes, Italy’s scheduled friendly with Luxembourg on May 29 was cancelled out of respect to those affected.
In the build-up to Italy’s quarter-final with England, midfielder Thiago Motta is a doubt after sitting out a training session in Krakow, however it is believed the muscle strain is not significant.
The last-eight clash kicks off at 20:45CET on Sunday.
