thumbnail Hello,

The Chelsea man has rubbished suggestions that the European and world champions would play for a 2-2 draw with Croatia in Group C's final game that would send both teams through

Juan Mata has insisted that Spain will look for the win against Croatia despite needing only a draw to qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 from Group C.

There had been speculation in Italy that La Roja and Slaven Bilic's side would settle for a tie, and if the game were to end 2-2, it would eliminate the Azzurri from the competition while sending both Spain and Croatia to the next round.

However, the Chelsea attacking midfielder assured that his side are ready to fight for another three points to seal their progression into the quarter-finals as Group C winners.

"We always go out to win regardless of the opponent," Mata was quoted as saying on Marca.

"The squad is fine and raring to play the final group-stage game. There are a lot of expectations from fans and media alike, but we are a little isolated from that."

Asked to assess his next opponent, who are level on four points with Spain at the top of the group, Mata complimented the Croats.

"Croatia are a good side. They have many decent players that I know from the English Premier League."

Spain face Croatia on Monday at 20:45CET in Gdansk.
