ANALYSIS
By Danny Hart

As the opening of the transfer window draws ever closer and speculation grows, many clubs will be waiting for this summer's major tournament to play out before choosing to part with their cash.

For wantaway players, Euro 2012 will provide a platform to showcase their ability on a grand stage, while those already touted for moves will no doubt see the showpiece in Poland and Ukraine as an opportunity to strengthen their position in negotiations.

Continuing our build-up to the tournament, Goal.com takes a look at the players competing in the European Championships who could be bound for the Premier League this summer. Next up is Group D, containing England, France, Sweden and Ukraine.

Robert Green

Could be a target for... QPR, Tottenham

Joe Hart's understudy is a free agent after opting not to renew his contract with newly-promoted West Ham at the end of the season, prompting reported interest from a number of clubs in England's top flight, as well as Spanish side Malaga.

While a switch abroad may appeal to Green, who has spent his entire career playing in England's top two divisions, a return to the Premier League looks most likely, with QPR and Tottenham said to be leading the race for the out-of-contract Three Lions goalkeeper.

Mathieu Debuchy
FULL-BACK | FRANCE

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | LILLE
Appearances 43
Goals 5
Assists 1
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs Albania (2011)
Caps (Goals) 5 (1)
Could be a target for... Newcastle

Having been overlooked during Raymond Domenech's reign as France coach, the defender, despite winning just five caps for his country so far, has quickly cemented his place in the national setup and looks a certain starter under Laurent Blanc at Euro 2012.

Newcastle have been strongly linked with a move for Debuchy, who says he would welcome a switch to the Premier League but has left his future in the hands of his agent during the Euros, and sent scouts to watch him in France's 3-2 friendly win over Iceland in May - a match in which he scored his first international goal.

Olivier Giroud
STRIKER | FRANCE

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | MONTPELLIER
Appearances 43
Goals 26
Assists 9
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs USA (2011)
Caps (Goals) 6 (1)
Could be a target for... Arsenal

The in-demand Frenchman, who has jokingly been valued at €50 million by Montpellier president Louis Nicollin, has options available to him this summer following a stunning season which saw the striker help fire his unfancied Ligue 1 club to title success.

Although his agent has revealed to talks with Bayern Munich, Giroud admits it would be a "dream" to play in the Premier League one day. Arsenal are believed to be interested in the striker, but with the club also hopeful of keeping Robin van Persie and having already agreed a deal for Lukas Podolski, any ideas of a switch to north London could rest on the future of the prolific Dutchman.

Yann M'Vila
MIDFIELDER | FRANCE

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | RENNES
Appearances 50
Goals 1
Assists 2
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs Norway (2010)
Caps (Goals) 19 (1)
Could be a target for... Arsenal

Like Debuchy, M'Vila has become a regular for France under Blanc. The 21-year-old made his debut in the former Bordeaux coach's first match in charge, and will play a key role in the centre of midfield in Poland and Ukraine after the injury he picked up in the friendly against Serbia proved to be better than first feared.

The Rennes midfielder has long been linked with a switch to Arsenal, while Gunners defender and international team-mate Laurent Koscielny has urged him to move to the Emirates this summer. But M'Vila insists he is focused on Euro 2012 and will not make a decision on his future until after the tournament.

Rasmus Elm
MIDFIELDER | SWEDEN

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | AZ
Appearances 52
Goals 13
Assists 16
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs USA (2009)
Caps (Goals) 24 (1)
Could be a target for... Liverpool

A gifted attacking midfielder who has come on leaps and bounds for Sweden since the arrival of coach Erik Hamren in late 2009, Elm has the opportunity to further enhance his glowing reputation at the heart of the national side in Poland and Ukraine.

Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham, have been rumoured to be interested in the 24-year-old, who has a year to run on his AZ contract, but Liverpool are now reportedly leading the race for his signature. The Reds even sent scouts to watch him play against Feyenoord in May - only for the Swede to miss the match due to the birth of his daughter.

Ola Toivonen
STRIKER | SWEDEN

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | PSV
Appearances 49
Goals 26
Assists 4
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs Venezuela (2007)
Caps (Goals) 24 (6)
Could be a target for... Sunderland, Tottenham

The 25-year-old only signed a new deal with PSV midway through last season, but an impressive campaign, to make up for the departure of Balazs Dzsudzsak, will not have gone unnoticed around Europe, especially among clubs who have tried - and failed - to sign him in the past.

Liverpool were said to be close to wrapping up a deal for Toivonen in 2010 but a move failed to materialise, while Sunderland and Tottenham, who are both looking to strengthen in attack this summer, have also been linked. The forward insists he is happy at PSV but says now would be the "right time to sell" if his club wanted to cash in on him.

Yevhen Konoplyanka
WINGER | UKRAINE

2011-12 SEASON CLUB STATS | DNIPRO
Appearances 32
Goals 9
Assists 8
INTERNATIONAL FILE
Senior debut vs Lithuania (2010)
Caps (Goals) 19 (5)
Could be a target for... Arsenal

After breaking on to the international scene in style over the last two years, Konoplyanka, whose excellent dribbling ability, pace and eye for a goal have seen him dubbed the 'Ukrainian Messi', has the opportunity to put himself in the shop window over the next month.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly set to watch the winger at Euro 2012 as a possible replacement for Andrey Arshavin, with fellow Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United also rumoured to have shown an interest recently.
