My injury is not serious, assures France's Alou Diarra

The Marseille midfielder picked up a knock in the first minute of Les Bleus' friendly match against Estonia on Tuesday but insists he will be ready for the start of Euro 2012
Alou Diarra says he is fine to play for France at the European Championships, despite suffering from knee inflammation.

The midfielder twisted awkwardly in the opening minute of Les Bleus' friendly win over Estonia on Tuesday but managed to last 65 minutes before being replaced by Laurent Koscielny.

And the 30-year-old has moved to ease fears of a lengthy lay-off, saying the knock was not too serious.

"I have a little pain in the tendon, but I was reassured by the doctors," Diarra was quoted as saying by RMC.

"The inflammation is not too serious. After [the injury], I did not want to take risks, because we must be vigilant for the early days of the competition."

The news will come as a boost to France coach Laurent Blanc, who could be without the services of injured duo Yann M'Vila and Blaise Matuidi for the tournament opener against England on Monday.
