Greece coach Fernando Santos has stated his belief that all four teams in Group A have an equal chance of progression to the knockout stage at Euro 2012 next summer.

The Euro 2004 champions were drawn alongside the Czech Republic, Russia and co-hosts Poland, and the Portuguese coach believes there is no clear favourite for in the group.

"It is a very open group and I believe that all teams have a 25% chance of progressing to the next round. In theory it's a good draw for us, but we need to prove it on the pitch," the 57-year-old said according to Uefa.com.

"Do not forget, such a draw is a double-edged sword. Perhaps you concentrate more against stronger opponents.

"I am sure that many of you are thinking back to 2004 when Greece played against the hosts in the opening match and again Greece's last group match was against the Russians.

"That surely brings back good memories and is regarded as an omen. However, the most important thing now is the preparation of the team. I believe in my players and I know they will be ready for the tournament."

Greece face Poland on June 8 in the tournament curtain-raiser before taking on Czech Republic and Russia.
