The stadium is situated in the centre of Kiev, on the right bank of the Dnieper river. Due to its location in the city, it can be easily accessed by a number of different transport modes.
Atmosphere
Despite an athletics track circling the pitch, Ukraine's all-time record goalscorer and former AC Milan forward Andriy Shevchenko claims: "I am delighted with the Olympic Stadium. It is very exciting to play here, the conditions are just fantastic. And the acoustics are absolutely incredible."

Kiev's Olympic Stadium hosted the football event at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Thirty-two years later it will hold the final of Euro 2012.
