Lille's Mathieu Debuchy feels he deserved France call-up to replace injured Bacary Sagna

The Ligue1 champion is overjoyed at being called up for the national team's upcoming games and believes his inclusion is fully merited
Lille right-back Mathieu Debuchy is delighted to be included in France's squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The 26-year-old defender was a last-minute addition to the list following Bacary Sagna's ankle injury, which could see the Arsenal man miss up to three months of action.

Debuchy, who has played his entire career with the Ligue 1 champions, has earned his first-ever call-up to France's senior squad.

"I am very happy to have been called up," he told RMC. "I have had good performances lately. I believe I deserve this.

"There are players ahead of me in France's pecking order right now. Unfortunately Bacary has injured himself, but the call-up has made me happy.

"I will work hard in training and we will see what happens."

France, who are atop qualifying Group D on 17 points, take on Albania on Friday and then Bosnia four days later, with both games taking place at the Stade de France.
