Greece Striker Theofanis Gekas Retires From International Football
Greece forward Theofanis Gekas has announced his decision to retire from international football.

The 30-year-old attacker was the top goalscorer in the European section of the 2010 World Cup qualification campaign. Gekas scored 10 goals in Greece's successful qualifying campaign, but couldn't repeat his heroics in South Africa.
Gekas has made over 40 international appearances for Greece since making his debut in 2005. He played his last game on Tuesday evening, when he came off the bench after the break in Greece's scoreless draw against Croatia.
The experienced attacker is expected to focus on his club football now. Gekas joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer.
Ioannis Amanatidis, a team-mate of Gekas at Frankfurt, announced his decision to retire from international football about a month ago.
