Netherlands recorded a narrow 2-1 victory against Finland on Tuesday, but the Dutch seriously struggled to dominate play. Head coach Bert van Marwijk tried to turn things around after the interval by replacing Rafael van der Vaart with Eljero Elia and the new Tottenham Hotspur signing was far from happy with having been replaced.

"I am not happy about this. I really feel that I don't deserve this. I was playing pretty good. I'm trying to stay calm and not to complain. However, I'm pretty angry at the moment," Van der Vaart was quoted as saying by SBS6.

"I can't even remember when was the last time that I played a full match with Oranje. I'm always the first one who gets substituted. This situation is starting to annoy me.

"The coach always makes the same substitutions. You already know what will happen even before the first whistle. This is really bothering me. Maybe I have to change my attitude. This is very disappointing."
