Spain coach Vicente del Bosque that Fernando Torres' return to goalscoring form against Liechtenstein was important for the player and the team as they got their European title defence underway with a straightforward four goal victory.
La Furia Roja's strike pairing of Torres and David Villa each scored to secure a facile win with the latter equalling the 44-goal international record of legendary striker Raul.
"He had not scored during the World Cup and these two goals and the one he got the other day for Liverpool will strengthen his morale. Thatis very good for him and very good for the team," he said afterwards, as quoted by AS, before insisting that the team's success in recent years will not result in a drop in hunger.
"They have proven that won't happen. We picked a championship winning team and it has repeated it's efforts. The spirit of the veterans within the team will help to ensure this group does not deteriorate."
