La Nazionale laid the first brick in what is likely to be a long and hard rebuilding process with the win in Tallinn to end a seven match baron run.
"It's a strong emotion for me. I said we could win and we reacted well. We deserved to win the game in the end," the coach told Rai after the game.
"What did I tell the players at half-time? I told them to continue playing fast and we were able to rebuild and get back into it.
"We made mistakes during inactive balls and we let them surprise us with the goal."
Antonio Cassano scored one and made one, leaving Prandelli impressed.
"Cassano and Pazzini are the players who have shined the most recently."
