France Coach Laurent Blanc: Players’ Mindset Has Been Excellent

Laurent Blanc has stated that the France team are approaching their fixture against Belarus in the correct frame of mind.
France coach Laurent Blanc has admitted that he has been delighted with the attitude of his squad ahead of Friday’s Euro 2012 qualifying match against Belarus and that he is pleased that his reign as national team boss will be seen by far more spectators than was previously envisaged.

Les Bleus’ World Cup campaign was marred by ugly rifts in the camp, which contributed to a turgid tournament that saw the fancied French team finish poorly in their section. Blanc, however, feels that such problems are a thing of the past.

“The attitude, the determination is there,” Blanc told the media, according to the LFP’s official website. “I'm delighted with the way the players are handling themselves. Now, the most important thing remains to be done - to try to take that out onto the pitch.”

The FFF (French FA) announced on Thursday that around 65,000 tickets for the match had been sold, which is significantly higher than previously estimated given les Bleus’ total flop at the World Cup under the leadership of Raymond Domenech.

“There will be a lot more people in the stadium than we thought,” ‘Le President’ smiled. “That's a good thing. I hope they'll be behind their team throughout the match. The players know what's expected of them, particularly in terms of their behaviour and attitude, but I hope they'll also show their footballing qualities.”

A good victory is needed at the Stade de France in order to launch les Bleus into Tuesday’s match against Bosnia in a positive mindset.
