Spanish international midfielder Santi Cazorla has admitted that, as European and World champions, La Furia Roja are the team that everyone wants to defeat.
Vicente del Bosque’s side face Liechtenstein in their inaugural Euro 2012 qualifier, before heading to Buenos Aires and a friendly with Argentina.
Speaking today after his second consecutive call up post-World Cup, Villarreal midfielder Cazorla said: “We are the team to beat. Hopefully we can continue our successes. Our motivation is the same. The group has the same spirit and hopefully we can keep on winning.
Cazorla also expressed his satisfaction at returning to the team after missing out on the festivities in South Africa, commenting: “I am very pleased to continue for my country, it is good to come back quickly, and I want to show the coach I am available.
“We hope the future will be as good as before. We all know the rivals we have to beat.”
Finally, the 25-year-old looked forward to travelling to South America for the showpiece friendly with the Albicelestes, adding: “It’s a country I’ve never been to. It will be a nice game in a place with there is still passion for football.”
