Sulley Muntari was booed by the Inter supporters in their Serie A game against Udinese earlier this month but he displayed his best performance of the season so far against Genoa last weekend in which he played an instrumental role in their dominating 5-0 victory. This weekend the Ghanaian international defensive midfielder couldn't scale those heights but was important nevertheless for the Nerazzurri as they defeated Catania 2-1 to remain on pole position.

Muntari scored in the 13th minute when his long ball meant for Samuel Eto'o hoodwinked everyone and carved its way into the Catania net and although it was a fortunate goal, the 25-year-old's performance in the match was one that showcased his ability and urge to work hard in the midfield. He also laid a good cross for Patrick Vieira in the 28th minute but the Frenchman could only hit the frame of the goal from 10 yards.

Fellow African Samuel Eto'o hasn't exactly replicated his Barcelona form so far this season for Inter that made him one of Europe's top two strikers but the Cameroonian international had a decent game on Saturday. The 28-year-old won the free-kick that led to Wesley Sneijder's goal in the 31st minute and troubled the Catania backline with his pace, although he should have probably scored a goal himself in the match.

Juventus defeated Siena on Sunday to remain four points behind leaders Inter in third but Mohamed Sissoko could not do much. The Malian international had a good outing last weekend against Fiorentina but came on as an 88th minute substitute for Diego on Sunday, and therefore didn't have any time to make any impact whatsoever. Algerian international Abdelkader Ghezzal was suspended for this game and so couldn't feature. The Robur stay at the foot of the table.

Kenyan youngster McDonald Mariga too missed out on this week's action of Serie A. He is injured at the moment and so couldn't save Parma from going down 3-1 at Atalanta. The Ducali slip to eighth in the table.
