1952: Javier Urruticoechea (died 2001): Goalkeeper Urruti began his career with Real Sociedad before moving to they city of Barcelona, firstly with Espanyol and later with Barca, playing 240 Primera Liga games, split evenly between each team. He won five caps for Spain and also won every domestic honour and a UEFA Cup with the blaugrana. He was Spanish football's Player of the Year in 1980/81.
1961: Wolfram Wuttke: Although he spent most of his career in the Bundesliga, this German midfielder had a two-year spell at Espanyol at the beginning of the nineties. He played 37 Primera Liga games and scored 12 goals before returning to Germany. Wuttke represented West Germany at Euro '88 and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, collecting a bronze medal.
1977: Jairo Castillo: This Colombian striker spent most of his career in South America, including five separate spells at America de Cali, his first club. In 2005, he joined Real Valladolid, playing just 12 Segunda Liga games and scoring two goals. He has been capped 23 times by Colombia.
1978: Jorge Wagner: Brazilian striker Wagner had a three year stint at Lokomotiv Moscow, beginning in 2003, but played just 18 times before returning to Brazil, where he spent most of his career. In 2006/07, he joined Real Betis before being loaned to Sao Paolo a year later. He joined Sao Paolo permanently in 2008 and still plays there.
1983: Julian Varas Lopez: Midfielder Varas began his career at Atletico Madrid but spent most of his time there in the B side, making just two first team appearances before going on loan to Celta Vigo in 2007/08. After a spell with Heusca in the Segunda Division, he joined Alcorcon during the summer and was part of the side that famously knocked Real Madrid out of this seasons Copa del Rey.
