Spanish Cumpleanos: Arouna Kone
Every weekday Goal.com celebrates the birthday of past and present La Liga-related figures. Today includes all those born on November 11...
1971: Goran Dorovic: Capped 46 times by Yugoslavia, this defender joined Celta Vigo from Red Star Belgrade in 1997 and made 100 league appearances, before joining Deportivo La Coruna in 2001. He remained at the Riazor until 2004 when he retired after a loan spell at Elche in the Segunda Division.
1975: Jose Manuel Pinto: Currently second choice 'keeper behind Victor Valdes at Barcelona, Pinto began his career at Betis before switching to Celta Vigo where he played 181 league games before a loan deal at Camp Nou was made permanent. In the treble winning season, Pinto was first choice in the Copa del Rey but featured in just two league games.
1977: Maniche: Portuguese midfielder Maniche had his most successful spell with Porto, winning the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. He joined Atletico Madrid from Dynamo Moscow in 2006, after an unsuccessful loan spell at Mourinho's Chelsea and later linked up with the so-called 'Special One' again on loan from Los Colchoneros at Inter. He joined Koln in the Bundesliga during the summer.
1983: Arouna Kone: After coming to prominence in the Eredivisie with PSV, striker Kone was signed by Sevilla for €12 million in 2007 but has failed to establish himself as a regular, playing just 30 times in the Primera Liga, often as a substitute for Los Nervionenses and managing just one league goal. He has been linked with a move away from the Andalusians in a bid to boost his prospects of making the Ivory Coast World Cup squad. To date he has won 27 international caps and scored 9 goals.
