Welcome to Goal.com's regular feature: Goal.com World Player of the Week. Each week our worldwide team of editors will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by Goal.com International, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday. It won't necessarily be the best player in the world - at least not usually - but whoever we nominate will have done something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...

Goal.com World Player of the Week #62: Dani Pacheco
Club: Liverpool
Country: Spain Under-19
Age: 19
Role: Attacker
Castrol Ranking: n/a
Achievement: Two matches, three goals

Spain's La Rojita are on fire in the UEFA European Under-19 Championships. The side coached by Luis Milla and boasting the next generation of Spanish stars have ripped through the group stage with three successive wins over their Croatian, Portuguese and Italian counterparts.

Central to their cause has been Liverpool attacker Dani Pacheco. The former Barcelona cantera prodigy scored a brace to overturn Portugal and followed that up with an impressive showing against Italy on Saturday. Pacheco scored to send the Spaniards towards a semi-final showdown against England.

Pacheco has some outstanding talent for company in the Spain ranks, in the form of Ruben Rochina, Thiago Alcantara and Koke among others and will take some stopping if they are to be prevented the title.

Honourable Mentions

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst - Feyenoord

The veteran played his last match against Real Mallorca in his farewell game, bringing the curtain down on a distinguished career that included spells at Arsenal, Barcelona and Feyenoord.

Alan Kasaev - Rubin

Rubin lined up against Dinamo Moscow without a recognised striker in their ranks after Aleksandr Bukharov's departure for Zenit and Kasaev scored a tidy brace to keep Kurban Berdyev's side in touch at the top.

Hyun Jun Suk - Ajax

The Korean teenager scored against Chelsea in Ajax's friendly win to complete a remarkable fairytale. He moved to Amsterdam seven months ago with his football boots in a bag and spent days on end begging Ajax's coaching staff to give him a trial. They eventually relented and he has become a firm crowd favourite.

Zvonko Pamic - Croatia Under-19

The Croatians tore through Portugal to set up a semi-final encounter with hosts France. The Bayer Leverkusen teenager, now on loan at Freiburg, scored a hat-trick from midfield in a scintillating display.
