The Ecuadorian club are one of twelve teams taking part in the event and they will come up against both Madrid and Al Ittihad in the group stage.
Speaking to the official Peace Cup website about the event, Urrutia revealed that his side are looking forward to facing Madrid, but will not be overawed.
"The most important thing is to win the first game and arrive at the match against Madrid with a chance. If we beat Al Ittihad, it will be a battle with Real Madrid and, aside from the economic differences, it will be highly motivating for us to measure ourselves against players like Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, [Karim] Benzema...It is is possible that the people there will be used to those types of stars but, for us it will be new, therefore to play them will be nice. We will not go missing and will not be intimidated, on the contrary. Playing against a team the size of Real Madrid is an extra incentive that excites us all," he declared.
"As a player, it is nice to be able to play in this tournament and we know it will be a great experience. Representing Ecuador and also our club in the competition is a pride. What is important is to be there and to have the chance to face some of the best teams in the world."
The midfielder also went on to say that the Peace Cup is not just popular in Europe, but also in South America too.
"Even though it is a friendly tournament, it is a spectacular event. Here in my country, there is a lot of talk about the Peace Cup. The players and the heads of club have the responsibility to do things will like in the [Copa] Libertadores last year, as many people will follow us in Spain," he mused.
Certainly the Libertadores triumph was a great success for Quito last year and even though they do not seem as strong this season, Utturia assures they will fight for everything.
"I think that, as players, we have to aspire to big things. We want to continue making history and to do that we have to be positive and believe we can. We are going to go there with that belief," he explained.
Finally, Utturia was asked about what sort of football the fans in Spain can expect to see from his team this summer.
"We are a team who like to play football, who have players with quality on the ball. At the back we are strong and are difficult to surprise. One tries to contribute with long shots, something that can help to unlock defences, because in Ecuador we normally dominate possession, carrying the game," he concluded.
