After seeing Fenerbahce have to withdraw from the competition, Besiktas have stepped in to play in the Peace Cup...

Besiktas become the Turkish Champions after their final day 2-1 win over Denizlispor
Besiktas will replace Fenerbahce in the Peace Cup in July, the competition organisers have officially announced, after Luis Aragones' former club were forced to withdraw.

The hotly-anticipated event in Madrid and Andalucia has already attracted some of the biggest clubs in the world and now the Turkish double winners have confirmed that they will appear.

Fenerbahce were forced to withdraw as they will have to play in Europea League qualifiers during the tournament, and a replacement was quickly found for Sarı Kanaryalar.

Besiktas will now enter into Group D of the tournament and take on Porto and Olympique Lyonnais in Huelva and Sevilla in what promises to be an exciting event.

Also competing in the Peace Cup are Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia), Aston Villa (England), Celtic (Scotland), Juventus (Italy), LDU Quito (Ecuador), Malaga (Spain), Real Madrid (Spain), Seongnam FC (Korea) and Sevilla CF (Spain).

Aragones was sacked by Fenerbahce this week after the club finished fourth in the league and he was not willing to talk about his dismissal when he returned to Spain on Wednesday.
