Sabah In, Vuoso Out For Mexico
Miguel Sabah was called up to El Tri to replace the injured Matias Vuoso.
However, that may soon change. Sabah was a late addition to the Mexican national team ahead of Wednesday's game in Torreon. Sabah replaced Matias Vuoso, who was injured in Saturday's Santos-Pachuca match.
Sabah scored the game-winning goal in Mexico's 2-1 win over the United States on Aug. 12, a goal that manager Javier Aguirre has called Mexico's most important goal of the Hexagonal.
Along with Mexican league stars Aldo De Nigris and Javier Hernandez, Sabah is in a battle to fight for a spot on the World Cup team. With Carlos Vela, Giovani Dos Santos and Cuauhtemoc Blanco virtual locks to represent El Tri in South Africa, the attacking depth is something Aguirre must decide on. Sabah has six goals on the season for Morelia, good for a third-place tie on the goalscoring charts.
