CARSON, Calif. -- David Beckham hasn't trained since helping the Los Angeles Galaxy overcome the Houston Dynamo in the Western Conference final Friday, Nov. 13. In a light training session Thursday, the England international shed his foot brace and jogged in Carson, Calif. before the team flew up to Seattle, Wash. to resume prepare for the Major League Soccer Cup in the Northwest.

"I haven't trained since the game the other day so it's been a bit of a worry," Beckham admitted to the assembled media in California. "I had bad bone bruising. I haven't trained today, I've done a little running, which was important. It was the first day I'd actually been able to wear trainers.

"It's a lot easier now. I've been in a foot brace for the last four days which has enabled me to walk around freely and more comfortably. Today's the first day the swelling is down."

Of far milder concern to the 34-year-old is a cold.

"I've had a cold for a month," Beckham said. "I have three boys that have got colds, so we're passing it around."

Despite the banged-up foot and cold, Beckham expects to take to the pitch in Qwest Field on Sunday, Nov. 22 as the Galaxy attempt to win the MLS Cup over Real Salt Lake. This is Beckham's first playoff experience since joining the league in 2007. His time in America has been blighted by injuries, most notably in his first season with the Galaxy when he played through the pain in a lackluster campaign.

"It's not going to be perfect, but at my age you go into games and nothing is perfect," LA's designated player said. "You always have a niggling injury of some sort."
