PSG-Montpellier Betting Preview: More goals for Blanc's men at the Parc des Princes

Les Parisiens have been irrepressible at home this season - expect them to keep their quadruple hopes alive with a big win against the struggling visitors
Paris Saint-Germain’s quest for an unprecedented quadruple continues when they welcome Montpellier top the Parc des Princes in Wednesday’s Coupe de France clash.

Sitting pretty at the top of Ligue 1 and having booked a place in the Coupe de la Ligue semi-finals with victory over Bordeaux last week, les Parisiens are 2/9 (1.22) favourites with Paddy Power to keep their hopes of a domestic clean sweep alive with victory tonight.

Rolland Courbis has lost just one of his five matches in charge since taking over from Jean Fernandez in December but is up against it at 12/1 (13.00) to secure his most eye-catching result yet by coming out on top.

The sides shared a 1-1 draw when they met at the Stade de la Mosson in August’s league encounter, and you can get odds of 9/2 (5.50) on them cancelling each other out once again for the fourth time in five meetings.

This game brings together France’s two most recent champions, although the clubs’ fortunes have taken drastically different turns since la Paillade's surprise title victory in 2012.

Having followed up their championship-winning season with a ninth-placed finish last campaign, coach Rene Girard was replaced by Fernandez in the summer, only for the former Nancy boss to be sacked in December with the team in the relegation zone.

While Courbis has overseen an upturn in performances in his short spell at the helm, the veteran boss will know there is a long way to go before his side can guarantee survival, meaning tonight’s cup game serves as little more than an unwelcome distraction for a team fighting for their top flight status.

Laurent Blanc, on the other hand, has spoken repeatedly of his determination to win every competition his team are entered in this season, as demonstrated by the selection of star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic in each of the last two domestic cup matches.

With a strong line-up expected to take to the field again tonight, the hosts will surely have far too much for a team focused on avoiding the drop, and odds of 13/8 (2.63) are therefore not to be missed on them ensuring at least four goals are scored.

That bet would have paid out in four of PSG’s last five matches and seven of their last eight domestic games in front of their own fans.
