Pienaar’s impressive displays during the Confederations Cup have ignited interest from Spain and Italy.
Reports in Spain show that Atletico Madrid are still showing interest while Italians, Fiorentina, could be an option too.
Pienaar played for Everton against Fiorentina in European competition and the Italians are now planning for life in the Champions League next season, which would mean bolstering their squad.
According to Kickoff.com, Pienaar’s business manager, Rob Moore, refused to be drawn into discussions, but did say that his phone “has not been quiet” when asked about Pienaar’s star showing in the tournament.
“Steven’s under contract with Everton. So clubs must talk to Everton. Yes, he’s had a very good tournament, but he’s also happy there,” Moore says.
“Any possible future transfers for Pienaar lie in the hands of his club.”
