Lucas Radebe Chimes In On South Africa Bonus Issue

Former South Africa captain Lucas Radebe does not point fingers when he talks about the recent pay dispute in the national team camp.

Instead he has pinpoints the problem and showed the nation forward. Speaking to SABC, Radede said that football is a professional sport and players and administrators should have mutual respect.

The former Leeds United skipper said the players are more important than the administrators, and that issues like these need to be clarified on time.

He said there needs to be a proper structure in place, people who will deal with financial matters when it comes to the national team because they cannot leave it till the last moment. Radebe, who is one of South Africa’s greatest exports, has also questioned the timing of the latest developments.

“It is unfortunate that before they can even play the players can actually ask for that amount," he said.

“I believe that you do the work first and the money will follow.”
