Frank Lampard And David Beckham Hail England 'Spirit'

Following the Wednesday evening romp over Andorra, two of England's key performers pointed to the positive atmosphere within the squad...
England are still unbeaten in UEFA World Cup Qualifying Group Six after beating Andorra, and are now just three points away from a place at next year's South African show-piece.

At full-time, a pair of England stars were grateful to boss Fabio Capello for transforming the team, and to the nation's fans for finding their way to Wembley despite traffic problems.

"It's not as easy as it looks, playing these sides," second goalscorer Frank Lampard told ITV.

"[Capello] now has us performing like a team; we've found ourselves a little bit.

"We also appreciate what the fans have done – getting to the game today."

David Beckham, having made his 100th start for the Three Lions, echoed those sentiments.

"The goals and the performance were for the fans," he said.

"The spirit is good at the moment; there's a professional atmosphere and a confidence.

"We know we've got the players, and the talent, so compliments to the lads."
