World Cup 2010: Iker Casillas, Joan Capdevila & Pedro Insist Spain Deserved Triumph Over Netherlands

Fourth successive 1-0 win for Spain in knockout phase...
Spain captain Iker Casillas and team-mates Joan Capdevila and Pedro have reacted to their 2010 World Cup triumph by insisting that la Furia Roja deserved their success after overcoming Netherlands on a 1-0 score line after extra-time in Johannesburg.

Andres Iniesta netted the only goal of the game lashing home Cesc Fabregas' through ball four minutes from time to ensure Spain's fourth successive 1-0 win in the tournament and give Casillas the honour of lifting world football's most prestigious prize just two years after he lead la Furia Roja to European championship glory.

I'm really happy. We've earned this from beginning to end. I thank those who have always supported me, my parents and my brother," Casillas declared to Telecinco.

This is crazy, crazy. I hope to celebrate with everyone who has supported us tomorrow. It's well deserved for Spanish football," noted Villarreal defender Capdevila.

"It seemed we were going to penalties, but the goal from [Andres] Iniesta was a gift to us all. I was jumping on the bench to see if it went in. I dedicate it to my family, the Canary Islands and all of Spain," Barcelona starlet Pedro declared afterwards.
