Fernando Torres could very well start the semi-final clash between Spain and Germany from the bench...
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres became Spain's hero when he netted the only goal of the match in 2008, but the highly rated attacker has failed to impress at this summer's tournament so far and has yet to score his first goal.
According to a report in Marca, national team coach Vicente del Bosque is slowly running out of patience with the former Atletico Madrid star and Torres could very well be relegated to the bench as Spain take on Germany on Wednesday.
The report claims that Del Bosque is ready to axe Torres from his line-up in favour of tricky winger David Silva. The new Manchester City signing was part of the starting XI in Spain's 1-0 group stage loss against Switzerland, but then lost his spot in Del Bosque's line-up.
Another candidate to replace Torres is Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas. The highly rated midfielder impressed after coming off the bench in the game against Paraguay.
