Former Inter midfielder Lothar Matthaeus has been linked to taking over the position at the helm of the Cameroon national team.
Current coach Paul Le Guen failed to qualify the Indomitable Lions for the knockout stage of the 2010 World Cup, and will not have his contract renewed, which is set to expire at the end of the month.
"We are in contact with one another," Mattheaus said to ANSA. "We shall see where this leads. For me, it is an interesting project."
Matthaeus won the World Cup as a player, being involved in Germany's success in 1990.
