World Cup 2010: Carlos Queiroz Insists Portugal Must Be At Their Best To Beat Spain

Coach expects to see a great game...
Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz believes his team will have to be at their best to come out on top in the all-Iberian World Cup round of 16 showdown against Spain in Cape Town.

Queiroz recognised that Spain have a team of real quality and also noted that the game brings a similar level of intense rivalry to a game between South American giants Brazil and Argentina.

"When the game starts it will be the inspiration and the willingness of the team that decide the game, it will be good , with speed and a good game. We must try to ensure Portugal are the best ever. What we have done up until yesterday will not help us beat Spain," he told a press conference.

"Spain have a very good team, very balanced, with a great tradition, they have achieved very good results and are the current champion of Europe, that's not accidental, but on the pitch there will be eleven players against eleven and what we expect is to see a game great.

""It's a game with an intense rivalry like that of an Argentina-Brazil game."
