World Cup 2010: Holland Boss Bert Van Marwijk Not Surprised By Slovakia's Achievement In South Africa

The Oranje tactician has urged cautioun against Slovakia...
The Netherlands will tackle Slovakia in the World Cup Round of 16 and Bert van Marwijk has confessed that not even sending Italy out of the tournament has surprised him about the quality of the Repre.

"At the start of the tournament I spoke about Slovakia's qualities and I foresaw difficulties for Italy. So, they are a team who cannot be neglected," he said at a press conference.

The two teams will meet each other on Monday for a place in the quarter-final , and Van Marwijk is confident the Oranje hold the key for progression.

"If we maintain the level from the first two matches, if we are focused and fast in search for spaces, with direct movements, we will gain a lot. We must be patient because we have speed and definition," he added.

"Against Slovakia we cannot afford to be absent from the match, not even 20 minutes. Against Cameroon we thought we would win big, but no. For that, one needs discipline and concentration. But we had some moments of disregard. And that is when the problems arrive.

"Nevertheless, that match was good for us to wake up from our dream. It was a warning and a lesson for the match against Slovakia. We cannot make the same mistake, much less on Monday, when a mistake will send you out."
