Dugarry is struggling to make sense of the goings on in South Africa...
Former Olympique de Marseille, Milan and Girondins de Bordeaux goal-getter Dugarry, who turned out over 50 times for les Bleus and is now one of his nation’s most respected football analysts, has attacked both the squad and the FFF (Federation Francaise de Football).
“They’re participating in the World Cup, not a sixth rate tournament,” the ex-professional proclaimed to l'Est Republicain. “The whole world’s laughing at us today.”
Dugarry believes that coach Raymond Domenech was too weak with the players and had totally lost their respect. Nicolas Anelka’s outburst at the trainer proved the catalyst for the implosion of les Bleus, and the former forward believes that Domenech was an easy target.
“It is obviously inexcusable and unacceptable, but I'm sure he would never have launched such insults at a respected coach like Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps,” Dugarry explained.
The 38-year-old accused the FFF of finally paying for “incompetence and blindness”, though he did offer some hope for the future, stating that Laurent Blanc “has the charisma and skills to restore colour to the France team”.
