World Cup 2010: England Manager Fabio Capello Bans Vuvuzelas From Team Hotel

Italian steps in to ensure perfect preparations for team...

The eardrums of England's World Cup 2010 players will not be be burst by vuvuzelas at their team hotel, after Fabio Capello stepped in to ban them.

According to The Express, the manager reacted angrily after hearing that the bar at the Cape Town residence where they are preparing for tonight's Algeria clash had been handing out the instrument for free. Competition winners from a 'guess the correct score' contest from both local and England fans were given the 3ft long plastic trumpets during Uruguay's 3-0 victory against South Africa on Wednesday.

The Italian has left nothing to chance and was determined to give star players Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard a break from the ear-splitting noise.

A spokesman for the hotel said: “England are our VIP guests and we will be making them as comfortable as possible during their stay. They will not be disturbed by vuvuzelas here – they are not being allowed in the hotel and there are none on the premises.”

He added: “Our staff would get very upset with anyone blowing one and they would be asked to stop or leave.”
